Once upon a time there was a bend in the River Ebro. Once there was a land loaded with legend and history. Once there was Viña Lanciano. Legend has it that Charlemagne himself crossed the Mantible Bridge, which was enormous in size with seven semi-circular arches. Now, just two of the arches remain, used as an illustration on the label of our most iconic wine, Viña Lanciano, from its inception.
Since 1972, Bodegas LAN's story has been closely linked to this land. A name— LANcomposed of the initials of the three provinces that make up the D.O.Ca. Rioja: Logroño (now La Rioja), Álava, and Navarra.

Bodegas LAN's most famous wine, the one that best reflects its innovations in ageing, as it started to use hybrid oak barrels (with French oak bases and American oak staves) for LAN Crianza as long as two decades ago, contributing to its unmistakeable character.
Bright cherry red with a garnet rim. A refined nose with predominant notes of red and stone fruits: strawberry, raspberry, and peach. Patisserie and cream encased in elegant notes of vanilla, caramel, and a subtle hint of cinnamon. It is flavourful and expressive on the palate. It is immediately inviting, enveloping the palate, and leaving a long and pleasant aftertaste.

LAN Reserva spent 18 months in hybrid barrels of French and American oak, and 21 months in bottle, inside our cellars, in the ideal storage conditions. Don't keep this Reserva for a special occasion that might never arrive.
Bright, ripe cherry red. Intense and complex in aromas. Aromas of ripe red fruit, enveloped in white flowers, almond blossom and broom. Touches of cinnamon and resinous notes. Velvety on the attack, smooth and delicate. It is elegant, balanced and harmonious on the palate. A long finish, leaving a pleasant aftertaste that encourages you to take another sip.

Crafted from vines of more than 40 years of age, LAN Gran Reserva spent 24 months in barrel and a further 36 months in bottle to refine and round off the wine. This is our way of paying homage to the passage of time, patience, and expertise. Elegant and subtle, it fully expresses the wisdom bequeathed by time.
Deep garnet red with a ruby rim. On the nose, notes of very ripe fruit - plum, figs and fruit compote - stand out. All enveloped in notes of vanilla, caramel, black pepper and smoke. A well-structured wine, with ripe, sweet tannins on the palate. It has a long life ahead of it.
